Edgewood, Tahoe, what can you say! One of the most beautiful places in the world, this destination is always at the top of my list. Having grown up not far away in Auburn, California, we frequented Tahoe regularly, however, much has changed as the resort here has taken on a new sense of the term, world-class.
Getting to the resort along the winding scenic journey above the blueish color of Lake Tahoe, you eventually arrive at the resort sitting lakeside. As a classy touch, we were kindly greeted with sparkling wine, I think as gratitude knowing that the drive took focus as I don’t like heights. Similar to other world class properties and the attention to captivating our senses, you’re immediately drawn to the high gorgeous glass windows that frame in the lake with the resorts pool in the forefront.
Hotel of the Year in both the U.S. and Canada rated by Preferred Hotels, you’re in for a real treat. Amenities include excellent dining options including an elegant restaurant experience, a bistro for grabbing a quick bite, or the bar and deck. My personal favorite was the deck early in the morning for a cup of coffee and the recommended Bistro Blueberry French Toast waffles topped with blueberry sauce, goodness!
The golf course, most recently renovated by Tom Fazio, is playable from 5,300 yards up to 7,500 yards, providing the right tee length for all skill levels. I played from the tees closes to 6,200 yards and was able to reach most greens in regulation. The ball flies farther at this elevation, possibly one to two clubs greater.
There is a lot of fun here for families with other amenities for non-golfers including lake activity as well as games available on the grounds including giant checkers and chess, hula hoops, corn hole and other fun outdoor activities.
On my last day, I took a blanket and sat on the sand lakeside. Listening to the peaceful waves of the lake tumbling around me was a great reminder how lucky I am to be able to visit properties like this across the world and am able to share with you.
Thank you for following me on these trips and I hope they inspire you to visit as well. Edgewood is a spiritual retreat either alone, as a couple or with the entire family. I recommend this excursion highly and know you too will feel as refreshed as I since returning.
